Basic Information
In the event of inclement weather, of any form – snow, ice, flooding, or any other weather that would cause a need for closing or delay, the church office and the Bethel Learning center will operated on the same schedule as the local school system. The local school system is the School District of Oconee County (SC).

If you are a member of Bethel you can always contact your deacon for the latest up to date news on any closings or delays.

Any closing or delay information will be posted on the Loving Bethel Facebook page, the Loving Bethel website, and communicated in any and all forms of communication as available as quickly as a decision has been made and access to these sites are gained.
Different Situations & What Procedures Are In Place
What if the local school system has decided to close for the entire day due to the weather? If the schools have made the decision that the roads are too dangerous for their students, teachers, and staff to get out of the roads be-it in a bus or a personal car, then it is too dangerous for our church staff and our students, teachers and staff of the Bethel Learning Center to do the same. We will also be closed for the entire day.

What if the local school system has to close early or has an early dismissal due to the weather? If the schools close due early due to the weather and not due to something within the school, like a water line breaking or the power going out, the church office and the Bethel Learning Center will do the same.

What if the local school system has decided on an one hour delay due to the weather? If the local school system has decided to operate on a one hour delay, then the church office and the Bethel Learning Center will do the same, meaning that both will open and resume operations beginning at 9:00 A.M.

What if the local school system has decided to operate on a two hour delay due to the weather? If the local school system has decided on a two hour delay, then the church office will operate on the same two hour delay, meaning it will be open and begin operations at 10:00 A.M.  However, because the Bethel Learning Center releases our students at 11:00, there would be no reason for students, teachers, or staff to come for only an hour. Therefore, if the local school system operations on a two hour delay, the Bethel Learning Center will be closed for the day.

What if there is a full-day closing or an early dismissal on a night that a church activity is planned for that evening, will the activity still go on? If there is a full-day closing or an early dismissal on a night that a church activity is planned, like a Wednesday night worship service or Tuesday night BOOM, there will be no activities at the church. The safety of the members and the visitors are the churches first priority. Should there be a change due to less severity of the storm, it will be posted on the webpage, the Facebook page, and other forms of communication as available.

What if there is inclement weather on a Saturday night or Sunday Morning? If there is a threat of inclement weather on a Saturday night or Sunday morning, the Bethel Leadership Team will watch the weather forecast carefully and make a decision about the cancellation of Sunday Services as quickly as they can. While the importance of corporate worship is a core value, the safety of our members and visitors comes first. As always, if at any point a member feels that it is unsafe to attend a particular service at Bethel, they are excused from the service. They are encouraged to participate in their on personal prayer and Bible study time with their family. In the event of such cancelation, the Bethel Leadership Team will then start calling members of the church and it will be posted on the website, the Facebook page, and other forms of communication as available.

What if Sunday Morning Services are cancelled, are Sunday night services cancelled too? In the event that Sunday morning services are cancelled, all Sunday night services will also be cancelled. If the Bethel Leadership Team has made the decision to not open for Sunday Morning Worship, they will also not open for Bible Study, Music Adventures, Holy Roar Praise Band Practice, Choir Practice, Youth, or any other activities that would have happened that evening. In the event that the storm is not as dangerous as first believed, communication will be made to let members and visitors know of this change. It will be posted on the website, the Facebook page, and other forms of communication as available.
